FAQ’s
When does the season begin and end?
EYSA plays a fall and a spring season. The fall season begins the first weekend after Labor Day and concludes the weekend preceding Thanksgiving, with no activity (other than travel teams at tournaments) on Columbus Day weekend. The Spring season starts the first weekend in April and concludes just before school ends.
When does registration begin?
Registration for the recreation league and pre-K starts in May. For travel teams, it starts in June once travel player selections have been made.
What are the age groups?
The recreation league program starts at kindergarten age 5 and generally runs though the ninth grade. Travel teams’ starting age is ‘under 9’ and goes up to 12 or 13, plus in the spring we field teams of high school age. We have a pre-K, age 3 and 4 program known as Team Dynamo.
Can one register for the fall or for the spring only?
No. Registration is for the entire “soccer year” starting in the fall. However, registration will re-open in January for Spring only, pending space in that age group. The Spring registration is at a significantly reduced fee.
When are tryouts for travel teams?
Tryouts are held in May.
Are there programs over the winter?
We try to set up programs, practice sessions and clinics for the “off-season” pending availability of indoor field space.

Do you run a soccer camp?
Yes. It a very popular program held for two early weeks in August at the Haindl Field. It is a morning day camp on weekdays, for ages 6 and up. The 2025 camp is only for one week; we plan to get back to two weeks for 2026.
What is the Challenger Program for special needs children?
The Challenger Program is specifically designed to enable boys and girls with special needs to enjoy the game of soccer in a fun and supportive environment. Participating Challenger players will be paired with a buddy (which can be either family members, close friends or volunteers from the EYSA program). Buddies help Challenger players as much or as little as needed by the individual player. The program runs on Saturday mornings.
Is Eastchester Youth Soccer a non-profit?
EYSA, operating under the name Eastchester Soccer Club, inc., is a 501c)3 corporation. Our federal ID number is 13-2920265.
How do I use the LeagueApps app?
Once you are registered with EYSA, download the LEAGUEAPPS app. Sign into the app using the email address that you used when you initially registered; you should automatically be directed to your team’s home page. If you do not see a team listed, it likely means that the team has not yet been formed.
How do I see my team’s schedule?
Once your player is assigned to a team, the schedule will be available to you within the Leagueapps app. It is highly recommended that you rsvp for practices and games using the RSVP function within this app.
How does one become a sponsor, and where do we see the sponsors?

How does a rec league coach get a background check?
The Town requires a background check for each coach. Travel team coaches and managers are processed through the Westchester League. Recreation league coaches and assistants are handled by EYSA through Protect Youth Sports. There is no fee, and the entire input takes under 5 minutes. Coaches are notified and instructed by the league.
How does one become a referee?
EYSA uses USSF-certified referees. They are paid. Ages: 14 and up. Information on becoming a referee may be found at https://enysreferee.org/how-to-become-a-referee/

What is the league’s refund policy?
TRAVEL TEAMS: If a registered players withdraws in writing to EYSA any time prior to the first scheduled game of the applicable registration period, you will be responsible for 25% of the total registration fee (with any excess refunded). Any time following the first scheduled game of the applicable registration you will not be entitled to any refund or credit under any circumstances. If a registered travel player intends to transfer to another club during the season (August 1 to June 30), an additional fee of $250 will be charged prior to approval of transfer.
REC LEAGUE & Pre-K: Full refund before September 15; then follow Travel Policy.
There are no refunds or credits offered for any clinic, camp or supplemental session.
How do players dress for games and practice?
For practices, games and clinics, players should wear their shin guards and soccer shoes (cleats). Shorts should be worn except that long pants may be worn for cold days, i.e., under 40 deg F (4.5 deg. C). For these activities, players should bring a ball if they have one. For games, obviously their uniform shirt, shorts and socks should be worn.
Jewelry of any kind is strictly prohibited for games and practice; tape over earnings is likewise forbidden. Hoodies are also banned. These restrictions are for safety reasons.
Does EYSA have an adult league?
EYSA does not sponsor adult teams in any league. However a group of men gather together Sunday mornings for choose-up games. Anyone interested should contact Daniel, moc.l1770761696oa@du1770761696agamd1770761696.
