FAQ’s

EYSA plays a fall and a spring season.  The fall season begins the first weekend after Labor Day and concludes the weekend preceding Thanksgiving, with no activity (other than travel teams at tournaments) on Columbus Day weekend.  The Spring season starts the first weekend in April and concludes just before school ends.

Registration for the recreation league and pre-K starts in May.

The recreation league program starts at kindergarten age 5 and generally runs though the ninth grade.  Travel teams’ starting age is ‘under 9’ and goes up to 12 or 13, plus in the spring we field teams of high school age.  We have a pre-K, age 3 and 4 program known as Team Dynamo.

No.  Registration is for the entire “soccer year” starting in the fall. However, registration will re-open in January for Spring only, pending space in that age group. The Spring registration is at a significantly reduced fee.

Tryouts are held in May.

We try to set up programs, practice sessions and clinics for the “off-season” pending availability of indoor field space.

The travel teams do practice over the winter.

Yes. It a very popular program held for two early weeks in August at the Haindl Field. It is a morning day camp on weekdays, for ages 6 and up.

The Challenger Program is specifically designed to enable boys and girls with special needs to enjoy the game of soccer in a fun and supportive environment. Participating Challenger players will be paired with a buddy (which can be either family members, close friends or volunteers from the EYSA program). Buddies help Challenger players as much or as little as needed by the individual player. The program runs on Saturday mornings.

EYSA, operating under the name Eastchester Soccer Club, inc., is a 501c)3 corporation.  Our federal ID number is 13-2920265.

Once you are registered with EYSA, download the LEAGUEAPPS app.  Sign into the app using the email address that you used when you initially registered; you should automatically be directed to your team’s home page.  If you do not see a team listed, it likely means that the team has not yet been formed.

Once your player is assigned to a team, the schedule will be available to you within the Leagueapps app.  It is highly recommended that you rsvp for practices and games using the RSVP function within this app.

Sponsors help provide funding.  They get their names and logo on the website’s carousel and names on a team.

The Town requires a background check for each coach. Travel team coaches and managers are processed through the Westchester League.  Recreation league coaches and assistants are handled by EYSA through Protect Youth Sports.  There is no fee, and the entire input takes under 5 minutes.  Coaches are notified and instructed by the league.

EYSA uses USSF-certified referees.  They are paid. Ages: 14 and up.  Information on becoming a referee may be found at https://enysreferee.org/how-to-become-a-referee/
